  1. Do you have a venue we can get married at? YES! Here at Elegant Elopements, we have our own small and elegant chapel where you can have your wedding at. We provide it all! The chapel, the ceremony, and an officiant who can help personalize your vows!   2. Are there any eligibility requirements or restrictions for couples wishing to elope at Elegant Elopements, or is this a venue open to all individuals who wish to tie the knot? At Elegant Elopements, we do not discriminate anyone wishing to marry; however, in the state of Texas, the legal age of marriage is 18, at which point individuals may enter into matrimony without requiring parental consent.

  3. What documentation or identification is required to bring with us prior to the marriage ceremony, and are there any specific items we need to obtain or prepare in advance in order to complete the elopement? For an efficient experience at Elegant Elopements, please note that we require two essential documents: a valid government ID to verify your age, and a copy of your marriage license. Please ensure you bring these items with you.

  4. Where can I obtain a marriage license? Both applicants must appear at your local Texas County Clerk’s Office and present proper ID such as a Driver’s License or State ID, Birth Certificate or Valid Passport. Please note they will not accept photocopies. If the applicant is divorced, there is a 30-day waiting period after divorce is final. A marriage license is valid for only 90 days from date it is issued and there is a 72-hour waiting period from date of issuance to the time of ceremony. At our Nueces County Clerk’s Office, a marriage license is $76.00 cash only and $176.00 if both parties are out of state residents. Please call the Nueces County Clerk’s Office for up-to-date information and to verify all requirements for a marriage license at 361-888-0580 or visit them at 901 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, TX 78401. Please note that fees and waiting period can be waived if couple has elected to complete the premarital education course.

  5. What is the difference between a marriage license and a marriage certificate? A license proves you are legally allowed to marry and a certificate confirms that you did legally marry.

  6. Where can I take the premarital education course? We don’t offer the course, but you can definitely use google to answer that question. While we are not recommending or promotion any course, once option is to visit premaritalcourses.com and get more information. Shop around for courses. Prices average under $25 per person.

  7. We obtained a marriage license, but we are not residents of Texas, can you still marry us? Absolutely, you don’t have to be a resident of Texas.

  8. We have our marriage license; can we get married already? Please be aware that a 72-hour waiting period applies from the date of issuance. Once the 72 hours have elapsed, then yes, you may proceed!

  9. Ok, we’re married, now what do we do with our marriage license? If license was obtained at the Nueces County Clerk’s Office, then your officiant at Elegant Elopements, will return it to the County Clerk’s Office where it will be filed and recorded. The county clerk must then return the marriage license to the address indicated on the application. It is recommended to take a photo of the license for your records and consider obtaining a notarized copy. If the marriage license was not obtained at the Nueces County Clerk’s Office, then the license will be returned to the newlyweds so that they may return it to the county clerk’s office where it was originally obtained.

  10. What if I need a copy of my marriage license? Please reach out to the county clerk where it was obtained. Most places offer copies available for purchase.

  11. Where are you located? We are located at 711 N Carancahua St., Ste. 1728 in Corpus Christi, TX 78401 (17th Floor of the American Plaza Building).

  12. Is there free parking? YES, the parking entrance for the American Plaza Building can be found on Antelope St. (and Carancahua). Customers are required to park exclusively on the third level, which is uncovered. An entrance to the building is also located on this level. Elevators on the third floor will take you to the 17th floor.

  13. How much time in advance do you need to book an elopement? We prefer a 48-hour notice; however, if possible, we will accommodate same-day requests!

  14. Is a retaining fee required to secure our reservation date? A deposit of $75 to $150 is required, depending on the selected package.

  15. We've paid the retaining fee, but by when do we need to pay the full balance? Two weeks before your elopement date.

  16. What payment methods are accepted at Elegant Elopements? We accept Cash App, Cashier’s Check, Money Orders, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or Cash only. A receipt will be provided as proof of payment.

  17. We want to get married outside of your regular business hours; what can we do? We can absolutely work something out depending on officiant availability, but please note there will be an extra $125 fee added.

  18. We want to choose our own location but noticed you only travel 25 miles from 78401. What is your fee for locations outside of the 25 miles? $1.00 per mile after 25 miles.

  19. We need to cancel; how can we obtain a refund? Retaining fees or full payments will be completely refunded if a cancellation occurs at least two weeks prior to the scheduled ceremony. If cancellation occurs with two weeks or less left to scheduled ceremony, retaining fee portion is nonrefundable. However, exceptions are made for extreme circumstances, such as severe weather conditions, a death in the family, or significant hospitalizations due to illness or injury.

  20. I don't wish to cancel but need to reschedule; what alternatives are available? At Elegant Elopements, we can accommodate you depending on the officiant's availability. If the ceremony cannot be satisfactorily rescheduled, our cancellation policy will apply.

  21. I have purchased an elopement package that includes a traditional element, such as a unity candle, handfasting cord, ring exchange, jumping the broom, or unity sand. Are the special materials provided? No, the couple is responsible for providing any special materials they wish to use in the marriage ceremony tradition.

  22. We are running late, what will happen? Should your ceremony commence more than 15 minutes beyond the scheduled time as stipulated in the contract, an additional fee of $45 will be incurred for the officiant's time. Ceremonies delayed by over 30 minutes will be conducted only if the officiant's schedule allows.

  23. I have a wedding dress I would like to wear; can I change there? Absolutely! There is space available for you to change into that stunning dress!

  24. What happens if I slip or fall or accidentally hurt myself in anyway at Elegant Elopements or if someone breaks into my vehicle while parked there? While we certainly hope this never happens and hope every is careful and mindful while at our location at Elegant Elopements, we will not be responsible for any accidents or injuries of any kind. We are also not responsible for any theft or damage to parked vehicles. We truly appreciate your understanding.
